THE FILM FEST GENT ANNOUNCES THE WORLD SOUNDTRACK AWARDS ON 17 OCTOBER 2018 with special guest CARTER BURWELL

Within the framework of the upcoming World Soundtrack Awards, Film Fest Gent will host the very first concert dedicated to Carter Burwell’s film work. Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Dirk Brossé, will perform his original scores accompanied by film clips on the big screen. Film Fest Gent welcomes Carter Burwell as central guest at the 18th World Soundtrack Awards. Never before has music of the globally acclaimed composer, especially known through his collaboration with the Coen Brothers, been performed live.

Właśnie, coś to dziwne porównanie Adama. Tak jakby Burwell komponował ciężką, awangardową muzykę. Przecież właśnie styl Burwella charakteryzuje się sporym muzycznym poczuciem humoru, a i tematycznie jest bardzo dobrze.

‘THE SOUND OF JAMES BOND’ CONCERT WITH DAVID ARNOLD IN DRESDEN (GERMANY)

Tomorrow Friday 23rd of March, the concert ‘The Sound of James Bond’ will be held in the Kulturpalast of Dresden (Germany), performed by the City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir conducted by Nic Raine, with composer David Arnold in attendance.

The concert will include music from James Bond saga and other famous movies by David Arnold and John Barry, with the following tentative program:

* David Arnold & Michael Price - Sherlock
* David Arnold - Stargate
* David Arnold - Independence Day
* John Barry - Out of Africa
* John Barry - Dances With Wolves
* John Barry - Goldfinger
* John Barry - You Only Live Twice

* John Barry - Diamonds Are Forever
* David Arnold - The World is not Enough
* David Arnold - Casino Royale

This concert, ‘The Sound of James Bond’, will be repeated on Sunday 25th of March at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, encompassed in the cycle of concerts ‘Hollywood in Hamburg’ (tickets sold out a long time ago).

powiedział w wywiadzie nt nadchodzącego koncertu w UK, po raz pierwszy konkretne zdanie że z końcem tego roku przechodzi na emeryturę:

“I have very fond memories of my tours to the UK. From my very first concert at the Barbican Centre to my shows at the beautiful Royal Albert Hall and recently the spectacular nights at The O2 arena and the Blenheim Palace grounds. The English audience has always given me a very warm welcome and I felt strongly that I should play one last big concert in London before I retire at the end of this year.”
