Welcome to number 22 of our email newsletter.

Announcing our newest label concept

We've been pretty busy here, of late, at Perseverance. We are excited to announce a new sub-label which will be called Perseverance Reissue.

Here are the details:

* We are working with Warner Music, Universal Music and Sony/BMG Music plus a few independent music labels to reissue soundtrack albums that are just sitting in their vaults.
* We are also working with some studios for projects that may never have been released. While these may not qualify as "reissues" they fit the concept we have laid out here.
* Many of these albums are by very well known composers. Some other projects could be known musicians who scored their first, and only, film.
* Soundtracks could be from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s and in a few cases be recent releases that were "cut out" by their label too quickly.
* Pricing will be between 11.98-15.98 for single CD sets, $19.98 for double CD sets. In very rare instances the pricing may be higher for either type of recording depending on the cost of mastering and other factors beyond our control.
* Limited editions will run from 3,000-5,000 copies depending on what we think the sales potential will be.
* Some of these albums will be remastered versions of the original LP release with zero extras and others will be expanded depending on availability of additional material.
* We will be using original art to retain the look and feel of those releases.
* All releases will have liner notes by some great writers.
* When an announcement is made, we will share all the details of the hows and whys of that particular release so as to help you make an informed decision.

We will be announcing our first release in the coming weeks so keep checking back.

P.S. - One last note on CD pricing, with the economy being what it is the last few years, it's important to me that we create value for, you, the film music fan. We've learned a lot from the fans and this is a chance for us to provide quality releases at reasonable prices. This is very important to us and I hope you enjoy all the wonderful titles we plan to put out.

Release Notes:

· The masters sound really good. Warner handed us remastered tracks for this reissue. I had my mastering engineer Chas Ferry go through and make sure everything was perfect. We are quite happy with the sound and feel you will as well.

· Liner notes by Randall Larson.

· This is a straight reissue using the track listing from the original LP and the Warner France CD. It’s a great representation of the music from the film.

· Priced to sell at $12.98. This is what I keep talking about when I say we will make CDs like this affordable to the film music community. There will only be 3,000 copies manufactured. We will not make any more after we reach that total.

· We used the original artwork and corrected what we felt was a major disappointment with the Warner France release. Many fans noted they did not like the artwork choices for that release. We love the look of the CD as it brings back the original LP’s front and back graphics.

· Please keep this in mind. Our deal for this album lasts for a specific period of years. With the market shifting dramatically to digital it is highly doubtful another label reissues this recording. Grab it while you can.

Please enjoy. For anybody asking why this is being released the way it is, it’s simple. I want to make sure these kinds of releases get the light of day at reasonable prices. There are many other consumers out there who aren’t avid collectors and simply buy a film score because they saw the movie on TV or heard it someplace. They are the silent minority when it comes to film score sales. We want to provide you and them with a chance to own these releases at a reasonable price versus the crazy sums of money speculators try to charge.
