W piątek była premiera pierwszego odcinka Trollhunters, do którego tematy napisał Olek. Jak widać Guillermo del Toro był bardzo zadowolony ze Strażników, bo zaprosił go do skomponowania muzyki również do swojego filmu "The Shape of Water"

Alexandre Desplat to Score Guillermo del Toro’s ‘The Shape of Water’

Guillermo del Toro revealed in a recent interview with Indiewire that Alexandre Desplat is set to compose the music for the director’s upcoming fantasy drama The Shape of Water. The film stars Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Doug Jones, Michael Stuhlbarg and Octavia Spencer. The movie is described as an other-worldly story, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1963. Del Toro has also written the screenplay with Vanessa Taylor (Divergent, Hope Springs) and is producing the project with J. Miles Dale (Mama, The Strain). Desplat has previously scored the del Toro-produced Rise of the Guardians and composed the main titles theme for the del Toro-created Netflix series Trollhunters. The Shape of Water is currently in post-production and will be released in 2017 by Fox Searchlight.

Desplat’s other upcoming projects include Luc Besson’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

I wanted to ask about getting Alexandre Desplat to write the theme. How did that come together?
Alexandre is also writing the score for “The Shape of Water,” the movie that I’m doing now. He did the score for one of the movies that we did at Dreamworks, “Rise of the Guardians.” We got along really, really well and I came out of that project in awe of his talent and his music. We knew from the start that we wanted him to write the main themes of the series.

When you have a show about heroism, having a great hero’s theme feels like it’s really important.
Yeah. If you play the theme again of “Trollhunters” and then you go to, let’s say, the theme music of “Johnny Quest,” you will see that they have a similar spirit. They have this really ’70s adventure feel that is really, really good.

W Wenus było 40 minut, więc różnie może być. Ja i tak nadal czekam na Dreyfusa... Już tyle lat, a to ciągle przekładają...

O to widzę, że Desplat kolejnego reżysera sobie zabrał. Myślałem, że u Del Toro to Velazquez będzie nadwornym kompozytorem, plus liczyłem, że Djawadi będzie czasami doskakiwał. No, ale cóż widać to "Rogue One" mocno zabolało i teraz Desplat musi więcej reżyserów i projektów zająć.
