Myślę że warto już założyć temat, tym bardziej że Fitzpatrick ładnie reklamuje nagranie

Nagrane chyba telefonem, więc jakość dźwięku kiepska, ale daje to fajny pogląd na sprawę

Ciekawostka - nie ma w ogóle trąbek i puzonów w tym fragmencie, tylko 8 waltorni rozstawionych po cztery po różnych stronach sali - oj świetnie to będzie brzmiało z płyty cd:)

Ja czekam na Tadlowa

MBR słuchałem już ale jakość dźwięku nadal jest rozczarowująca a sam score jest pocięty w wersji filmowej na sporo krótkich fragmentów...

Mam identyczne odczucia...

Są już pierwsze opinie na FSM jak i na FB - wychodzi na to że "Obsesja" dosłownie miażdży w nowym nagraniu

- Fabulous recording which sounds wonderful on the Blu-ray disc. Brilliant work by all concerned - for which much thanks.

- Just gave this "Obsession" a couple listens and it is magnificent.

- Just received my copies today in the Seattle area. I'm playing the Blu-ray audio disc, and the sound is marvelous so far (I'm currently on track # 7, ). It's great to hear some "new" notes and instrumentation in the performance. Lovely recording! I feel like I'm listening to it in a concert hall with perfect acoustics.

- Wow this is magnificent! The double-sized horn section was a brilliant idea. The stereo soundfield is so thoughtful and lets us hear details in the score that are swallowed up in Herrmann's recording. I really love the separate placement of the harps. I am also glad that the pedal notes of the organ sound good and have some depth, yet they do it without rattling my little house off of its foundation. I am so fatigued by the bloated bass that sneaks into a lot of masterings these days.

- The quality of the score is reflected in the recording. Tadlow have built a reputation on producing great recordings such as El Cid and Taras Bulba, and this is another beautiful creation. Massive credit must go to Raine’s expert conducting and Christopher Husted’s preparation of the music from Herrmann’s original score and sketches, as well as James Fitz doing a stellar job producing the whole thing. The recording has such clarity and depth, and the resulting power of the musicians is something to behold. It’s also worth noting that as well as a CD, the set also includes a second disc of Blu-ray audio. We didn’t get a copy of this for review, but I can only imagine how cool it is.

It’s hard not to gush about Obsession. It’s a stunning work, beautiful and seductive, tense and terrifying, and Tadlow’s recording is impeccable, as is the orchestra’s performance. One of the greatest film scores by one of the greatest composers in wonderful quality – it’s hard not to get obsessive about how good this album is. Mesmerising.


- When it comes to composers of the golden age of cinema, I'm merely dipping my toes into the ocean of music from that era. Then, I heard of a project to create a new recording to Obession by Bernard Herrmann produced by yours truly James Fitzpatrick. Firstly, listening to the 'bog standard stereo' mix, James words not mine. Little jest there. I have to say this recording and score is staggering, but then I played the 5.1 surround mix on the second disc. This just blows you away, it's an incredible sonic experience and a first for me. I'm in total awe of the score and this spectacular recording. Excellent notes too by Christopher Husted and a wonderful session photo by Petr Kocanda of Nic Raine on the back page of the notes. I strongly recommend this recording whether your a seasoned Herrmann fan or new to his music like me. Finally, I'd just like to say, bravo to all the team involved as this must of been a hard labour of love.
