We are very excited to announce our first GOLDEN AGE title to come down the chute in quite some time (THE BIG COUNTRY being the last major Golden Oldie we did). With the release of A Certain Smile, La-La Land will start to embark on a series of Classic film scores from all over the Golden Age of Hollywood. Names like Newman, Tiomkin, and Waxman (to name a few) will join La-La Land's ever growing family of great composers. This lavish 2 disc production is brought to you courtesy of 20th Century Fox and Sony Music in New York. Disc 1 features the expanded film score remastered from the original 1/2 tapes stored at Fox. Disc 2 is the LP master, remastered from the original 1/2 tapes stored in New York at Sony Music. The incomparable Julie Kirgo provides in depth notes on the score and the film itself. The gorgeous 20 page booklet has that "Titus Touch" that is sure to appeal to fans of this romantic score.
And, of course, the cherry on top is the title song sung by Johnny Mathis, never sounding so lush and vibrant.
We did not forget you fans of the 80's and 90's. Our other treat is brought to you courtesy of MGM Studios.
