Jak widzę zbolałą minę tego aktora, to mi ziemniaki w piwnicy gniją, ale walić to, score może pozamiatać

Coś ten 22.11 robi się bardzo tłoczny z premierami.

Wydawcy zaskoczyli i puścili to dzisiaj w digitalu.
Od razu przesłuchane i generalnie zgodnie z oczekiwaniami. Bardzo ładny, rzetelnie zrobiony score z pięknym temacikiem i momentami zachwytu. Sporo typowo priceowego grania, ale wszystko układa się w świetne słuchowisko. Do wielokrotnego użytku i na pewno do postawienia na półce, jak wjedzie CD do sklepów.

prasówka twierdzi że będzie CD.. ale muza mnie nie zachwyciła, liczyłem na symfonike, a tu dużo elektropierdów jest - całośc brzmi jak jakaś delikatniejsa wersja Ad Astry z tegorocznych prac to zdecydowanie najsłabszy jego album, sporo brakuje do Planety i Ofelii. Oj sporo. nie kupuje, czekam na wydanie ofelli.

Ja nie ukrywam, że na razie tylko tak z dwa razy słuchałem ten soundtrack. Plus też nie posiadam jakiegoś super wypasionego sprzętu grającego, który wychwytuje najdrobniejszy szelest, czy odgłos przełykanej śliny przez muzyka grającego na waltorni. Ale z tego co słyszałem na moim skromniutkim sprzęcie, to trudno mi mówić coś o jakiś elektropierdach. A tym bardziej, aby było ich tak dużo, jak Adam sugeruje. Ja tam słyszę orkiestrę, a z elektronicznych elementów to pewnie chodzi o takie "szumienie". Tak staram się wnioskować, że ma ono symbolizować niebo, chmury, podmuchy wiatru i ogólnie uczucie lotu. Ale ja odbieram to jako tło i nie nazwałbym tego elektropierdami. Rzeczywiście muzyka może nie jest tak pełna energii i rozbuchana jak "Our Planet", czy też nie posiada efektu zaskoczenia, świeżości jak "Ofelia", ale to dalej bardziej ładna muzyka filmowa. Taki stonowany Price, gdzie też nie brakuje underscore'u, ale jak na razie naprawdę podoba mi się ta muzyka.

“The Aeronauts,” Steven Price

For the mid-19th-century hot-air balloon adventure “The Aeronauts,” composer Steven Price wanted his score to feature “organically wind-generated” sounds.

“These aeronauts were going up above the clouds, and they did not know what they were going to find there,” says the Oscar winner (for “Gravity”). “To me that was justification for the score not sounding conventional. When we were on the ground, more traditional orchestra, strings, play a part.

“But when we rise above, I wanted to feel like all the sounds were from the winds, whether that be brass instruments or woodwinds,” the composer adds. “There are a lot of harmoniums, human voices, pipe organ – all organically wind-generated.”

He began by contacting top London French horn player Richard Watkins. “We recorded loads of noises, blowing through the instrument. It was a musical kind of wind sound that sent me off in all kinds of different directions.” That led to recording an 18-piece brass ensemble “playing incredibly quietly… a really detailed, intimate sound recorded in a very dry room.”

Ultimately Price recorded an estimated 30 different ensembles of different sizes and makeups, with the orchestra totaling 70 musicians at its height, especially during the intense action scenes as daredevil pilot Amelia Wren (Felicity Jones) and meteorologist James Glaisher (Eddie Redmayne) are descending and finally crashing to Earth.

He also experimented with the use of voices, beginning with a 12-voice choir singing “long, drawn-out breaths to simulate the wind, percussive noises including panting for the action sequences, and swoops from high to low and vice versa to support the on-screen movement of the balloon during the perilous moments.” He later recorded 24 women’s voices at Abbey Road for “an ethereal breathy layer” for butterfly and London-through-the-clouds moments.
It was a seven-month process, Price reports. “For me, the big story was the unknown. There was this incredible idea that you might get to see into the future, the wonder of exploration, and the kind of peril that suggests.”

Pare miesiecy po premierze natknalem sie dzisiaj z przypadku w moim jedynym lokalnym sklepie z plytami na tego Prica. Plyta juz w domu ale jeszcze nie rozpakowana. Mam tak troche jak Adam - melodyka tam jest ale na kolana nie rzuca od razu. Elektronika mi nie przeszkadza ale na pierwszy rzut ucha to mi to troche przypomina takie odrzuty z Our Planet tylko w wersji bardziej eterycznej. Film jest dostepny na kanadyjskim amazonie wiec sobie go obejrze i moze wtedy sie przekonam bardziej. Brakuje mi chociaz kilku rakich bardziej wyrazistych kawalkow, ktore by jakas spiely i zamknely ten album, a szkoda bo sie wydawalo, ze tematyka filmu az prosi sie o troche wiecej przygody.

Film zaliczony: no i tutaj niespodzianka tylko nie wiem czy pozytywna czy negatywna - bo film malo jest przygodowy. W zasadzie jest bardzo kameralny - poza poczatkiem i dwiema scenami w srodku (krotko ale dramatycznie - bez spoilerow ale w sumie trailer pokazuje wszystko) reszta jest strasznie przegadana - to taki troche dramat egzystencjonalny, co wielu ludzi rozczaruje i wynudzi no i zahaczaja troche o emancypacje kobiet. Pare fajnych widoczkow (srednie CGI) i to by bylo tyle. Muzyka sie ciagnie w tym filmie, ma pare momentow, ale jak ktos sie spodziewal tematyki z Our Planet albo finalu Gravity to tutaj jest mega rozczarowanie.

Takze sorry ale film do zapomnienia a plyta do zwrotu

Film dobrze się oglądało, bajeczka, ale sprawnie przedstawiona, muzyka stonowana, ale w dwóch najbardziej dramatycznych scenach z początku (And So It Begins) i końca (For Science) filmu dobrze się wybiła. Film posiadał też ładne napisy początkowe (She’s Late), szkoda, że tego tematu nie ma już dalej, a jeśli chodzi o sam soundtrack to spodobał mi się jeszcze ostatni "We Took to The Skies", poza tym 4 kawałkami już mniej frapująco.

Stiw o scorze:

This beautiful adventure movie, directed by Tom Harper, provided one of the most brilliant opportunities for music that I have been lucky enough to have. The film, starring Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne, told the story of the pioneers of gas ballooning, aeronauts who were the first to fly above the clouds when no-one knew what might be found up there. The score, quite traditional in its orchestration when events were on the ground, was thus given license to take flight once the balloon had taken off, with the opportunity to sound as unique as the experiences the pilots would have. Tom and I took the approach that all the music we would hear when airborne should be generated by the wind, and thus the score I wrote was full of brass, woodwind, recorders, harmoniums, organs and the human voice.

I was lucky enough to record in a range of different sized studios with markedly different acoustics, taking advantage of the way the film itself switched from the intimacy of the two protagonists in the balloon basket to the huge widescreen shots of the huge expanses of the sky to make the music shift perspective in similar ways. I met some remarkable musicians on this one… Phil Cobb plays the solo trumpet, cornet and flugel horn throughout the score and elevated the score with every note he played. I’m also enormously grateful to Richard Watkins, a superb horn player who spent time with me at the start of the project patiently helping me discover new sounds and possibilities from the instrument. The movie was released on Amazon’s streaming platform in late 2019. However, if you ever get the chance to see it on an IMAX screen, or indeed projected with it’s intended Dolby Atmos soundtrack, you’ll get the truest experience of what we were all aiming for. It’s a project I’m very proud of.
