<3But despite recognizing the bulk of what I heard on the CD in the film, the film had two or three cues that sounded like the high-key, brash, big-statement, son-of-John-Barry kind of thing—utilizing a lot of Bond theme. I came out of the film thinking: Did they replace some of Newman's music? Did they do a Goldeneye and rescore just a sequence or two to get some more old-school music in there, a bit like they did with Goldeneye? I'm not saying they did, for I don't know. In fact I'm sure they can't have done. I'm sure we'd have heard about it if they did. It's a silly idea. All I do know is that having played a SPECTRE CD which was consistently low key and Newman-esque through and through (apart from the non-Newman cues of course), I was surprised when I saw the film to hear on a couple of the film's more exciting sequences some old-school Bond-theme laden cues that really didn't sound like anything on that CD. And it did leave me thinking that thought.
