OK, uznany forumowicz FSM i znany dziennikarz muzyczny - Thor Joahim Haga, był też na FMF, obszernie o muzie w filmie którego już widział dziś:

First of all, I was a BIT disappointed by the score. The keyword here, I think, is "whimsical". There's a LOT of rhytmic and energetic stuff with all the usual Williams trademarks, but if you want thematic setpieces like a "The Asteroid Field" or "The Forest Battle" or whatever, you won't find it. In fact, the most striking theme was the "rebel" theme (also in the way it appeared in the film). In that case, it has a lot in common with INDY 4.

Rey's theme had some nice renditions -- especially of the more pastoral kind (an extension of what you heard in the TV spot) when she is first introduced.

Finn's theme and Kylo Ren's theme are more motivic than thematic, IMO.

A big treat was the appearance of the original themes -- they're almost used more extensively than in the first six films. The "Force" theme appearances were undoubtedly those that made the biggest impression.

There is dark choral music for one particular scene, but it's not in the big, overt "Duel of the Fates" kind. More like the choral music for Palpatine in REVENGE OF THE SITH.

To be fair, I think the music will fare much better on album. At least I hope so. It's mixed fairly high in the film, but there's still a lot getting lost in the sound mix.

1, Can't say anything about the film, but the score is much less impressive than one could expect from Williams, even if it has its moments. The previous ones are much better.

2, The score sounds like a sub-INDY 3, in fact.I adore the three previous SW scores. Besides that, in his recent works, I loved War Horse, Indy 4 (kind of), War of the Worlds. Didn't care too much for the others.I'm not saying SWTFA is a bad score, far from it. But I was expecting something more epic. It's propulsive, but it's more based on action and speed than it is on thematic development. And the march of the Resistance is really, really disappointing. But all Rey's music is great and there is a beautiful heroic theme (heard only twice).

dobra, cicho, dalsze opinie o scorze - i wciąż chyba geniuszu ni ma :

3, It didn't stand out to me to be honest, some moments gave me goosebumps because they were tied into the original score, I'd need to see it again to tell you that for sure.

4, John Williams is amazing, to be honest I was sort of sucked into the movie, I don't remember going "holy fuck" about the score but there were a few goose-bump inducing moments due to the original themes playing at certain moments. I'd have to see it again and listen for the score."

wrzuć sobie w translatora. nic trudnego tam nie ma, nawet ja, totalny indolent z anglika mówionego wszystko rozumiem.

5, I think fragments of the original themes appear more often here than in the prequels, for example, but they are for relevant moments. As I said, the MAIN thing to take away from this score is the wild, rhytmic stuff without much thematic base, but with lots of energy.

There are thankfully also some setpieces, though, like the "Scherzo for X-Wings" and a fugue somewhere; might be in the "Abduction" track on the album. Not terribly memorable, "Rey's Theme" is very lovely. Has some of that pastoral Williams sound that I love so much. I have hopes this will shine more on album than what it did in the film.

Poczekajmy spokojnie sami z ocenami niż zobaczymy film i wtedy dowiemy się o muzyce. A nawet gdyby te głosy miały się potwierdzić, to nie miałbym żalu do Johna Williamsa. Może po prostu ten film na taką muzykę zasługiwał i nie mógł się wystarczająco zainspirować.

Chociaż siłą tych soundtracków zawsze była jak bombastycznie one oddziaływały w filmach. A więc to jest najważniejsza kwestia. Plus nie wspomina chyba nic o tej piosence J.J. Abramsa.
